Available Services in San Francisco for Children with Special Health Care Needs, 0-5

Services are available to children with special health care needs in San Francisco. Some services are for children 0 to 3, some for children 3-5, some are available for children 0 to 5, and some are available for children of all ages.

For information about eligibility, check the Eligibility section of this website.

If your child is ages 0-3, he or she may be eligible for services:

  • under IDEA Part C from Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC) or the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD); and/or
  • under Title V from California Children Services (CCS); and/or
  • from San Francisco Community Behavioral Health Services (SFCBHS); and/or
  • all children with special needs ages 0-3 are eligible for services from Support for Families of Children with Disabilities (SFCD) and HRIIC Round Table.

If your child is ages 3-5, he or she may be eligible for services:,

  • under IDEA Part B from SFUSD; and/or
  • under the Lanterman Act from GGRC; and/or
  • your child continues to be eligible for services from CCS, SFCBHS, SFCD and HRIIC Round Table.
