American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
ADA prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability
in employment, state and local government, public accommodations, commercial
facilities, transportation and telecommunications.

The Americans with Disabilities Act protects the rights
of individuals with disabilities. It is the major civil rights law that
protects citizens with disabilities. This is their home page. The link

This site presents the Department of Justice's guide to
disability rights laws. It does not include all of the laws that affect
children with disabilities, but it's good if you would like to familiarize
yourself with the laws in general.
Rehabilitation Act of 1973 - Section 504
Section 504 prohibits discrimination in the education of
handicapped children and young people, in vocational education programs,
college programs and other post-second education program, employment,
health, welfare and other social programs; and other programs and activities
that receive federal funds.
