The Laws

There are federal and state laws that govern the delivery of services to children with special health care needs (CSHCN). Some of these laws affect all CSHCN; some specifically target children birth to age three; others focus on children ages 3-5.

The laws are not uniform in terms of eligiblity or services delivered. Some key laws are discussed in this section. Please note: This list is not all-inclusive.
